An 1858 lighthouse,
still lit
The rooms are set within the building at the base of the tower. The lighthouse door opens inside the property. Next to it sits the keeper’s house; in front, the rocky coastline of Augusta and the open sea.
It is operated by the Italian Navy. After dark, the lantern emits two white flashes every twelve seconds, visible up to sixteen nautical miles away.
